Help On Re Stringing A 7 String - Topic

Yes the neck will lose tension and also, if you have a floyd rose it'll be a pain in the ass to re-adjust the bridge.

Oman, I took all the strings off of my floyd rose once. Almost just chucked the guitar and bought a new one. Re-adjusting that was so annoying.

I freaking hate floyd roses, I had a jackson dinky with one and it drove me fucking nuts, now I just get guitars without em and just put on sperzel locking tuners, problem solved for me.

with my floyd rose, ive taken all the strings off before. never really effected me...

Take all of your strings off and clean/oil the fretboard - Dunlop 65 lemon oil is great for this (unless you have a maple fretboard). I string from the top to bottom (E to A for you) out of habit, I find that stringing bottom to top wears out the heavier strings faster as they get stretched a bit more.
