just get lighter gauge strings or get used to the strings you have (you will get used to them soon enough).

lowering action might make it play smoother but affects tone and reduces volume output, loosing spring tension is definately not recommended unless you dont care if your guitar sounds like shit. Eb would work but if you want to play along in proper chord formation you'd need to capo to 1st fret to play in E, also you probaly want to get used to a standard tuned guitar.

Could always practice until you develop more finger strength.

if you have a locking bridge, it'll require a lot of readjusting
can't just tune down

if you don't have a tremolo/locking bridge, you can buy light gauge strings

Those might be necessary right when you start out guitar, but if you want good tone, you really should switch to a heavier gauge and try to get used to the extra tension. (you will get used to it soon enough) Lighter gauge strings produce a thinner, less desirable acoustic tone. Heavier gauge, inversely, give a fuller tone. I personally use D'Addario Mediums. Try out a heavier gauge (even if you only switch to the standard light gauge, no need to switch right to mediums right away), it will take some getting used to, but it will also be beneficial in the long run.

i would really steer away from anything lighter than "medium" gauge. your hands will get used to it and your tone and sustain will be worth the trouble.

What sizes do you consider "medium"?
