You will hardly see many tunings that are used that are higher then E Standard.
You tune DOWN never up, unless instructed otherwise. If you need to tune to dropped
D for example you would take your high E (6th string) and pluck the D (4th String) and match
the pitch with the 6th string by tuning DOWN. It doesn't matter if it's an electric or an acoustic
you always tune DOWN.
At this point you would be in dropped D, for here you would match your high E to your Low E (which
is not a D) then from there you would tune DOWN on your 2nd string (b) to match your 5th String (a)
to make the tuning complete - DadgaD
