You devote your songs to somebody that doesnt even exist.

He talks about his worship music in every thread, we just learn to ignore it now.

I would agree, since this is how I wrote songs for my older bands and what not, but being away from writing for a couple years, and trying to get back at it, this method just isn't working.

I'm looking for unconventional ways some people might do it. Something I haven't tried yet, as I've tried pretty much most conventional ways, and I'm striking out.

here's a good excersize when you get writer's block:

write exactly what your thinking even if it doesnt make sense. if you cant think of anything to write, write that until you think about anything else.

That's solid advice. I'm gonna try that! Thanks!

You know, if I wasn't in the midst of trying to find a job (graduating college next semester). I would. But considering a lot of places actually drug test. I can't...

That's a great question. Some things inspire others, while that same inspiration might hinder another player.

Personally, when I want to be inspired...I get out...and find a beach, a park, a beautiful monument. I sit there and see if I feel anything....

Sometimes it could be just something as little as a phone call....or listening to another song, that brings back memories...

I've been writing for a very long time...and have many of my songs registered with the Library of Congress, for copyright protection...

Some are dumb...and written about a dumb horse...to some very intense songs...

I hope you find some inspiration in what you see around you ..Good Luck!!! Happy Playing

i'm writing songs for a band ...

i don't know where i get my inspiration, it's just there ... i know what i want to write about, and i can so that ... it's a long process to a really really good song, but it goes on :)

i sometimes get my inspiration in the nature ... with fresh air, and sometimes i just have to sit in my room and then there come the words ...
