the $199 IF you want the effect's otherwise the $149, they're the same just one has built in effects, which probaly aren't that good.

my dad has like a 3000 roland jazz amp and ive played through the marshall stack before at a rich friend of mines house.made my guitar sound like the wrath of Zeus lol.

Peavey TransTube amps are awesome, you should be able to find a used one in that price range.

15w, no not really, I mean it really depends on your preferences, I have a crate 15r flexwave w/reverb and it's fine, but only cuz i have a digitech rp150 =/
