Shawn Lane was a fucking god of guitar.... Seriously unmatched by anyone.

Oh i'm not doubting the skill of them, I'm just not personally a fan. In terms of acomplishment, definately not. People that play soulfull music have been and will be remembered for ever, the random shred people will not, because seriously, think about it. Who CAN'T play fast. Everyone can play fast, but not everyone can play with soul.

fail response. i never said one thing was a reason for the other, i never said anything about how old the song is, and i stating nothing about soul in an absolute sort of way (hence the imo)

are you saying the guitarists he listed play with "no soul" ??? Look up Shawn Lane.



Sorry but playing slowly doesn't automatically mean it has soul, and playing fast doesn't mean it has no soul. It's not black and white.

There can be no other reason on why you would think it lacks soul other than the fact it isn't slow and that it isn't an old song. Sorry, but BTBAM isn't just another metal band that composes heavy riffs and starts to sound the same album after album.

Would it still lack soul if Steve Vai was in the band and played Paul's solo's? I bet in your mind you would say no, but on here, you'll probably just give an answer that will help support your opinion just so you don't look wrong.
