Super Distortion is a great pickup, but I use the X2N.  I have been considering the Tone Zone as a neck pickup, any thoughts on that one?

My guitar tech likes the Tone Zone, and so do I, but I think a PAF Pro has a great sound to it over a Tone Zone.

That's because you're fucking unable to get good tone out of it.

Maybe if you'd cut down the fucking bullshit about EMGs and actually fucking use them properly, you'll see that they can be awesome.

On thread: I played DiMarzios with my bro's Ibanez, PAF/Air norton I think, they sounded incredible. I was actually involved in a dilemma between them or SD for my ESP, but wouldn't be arsed to switch from active -> passive so I kept my EMGs.

Anyways, I really like them :D

Just so you know.. Gain is not a synonym for tone. you're probably just another stupid metal head that thinks d3r br00ta41z is still c00l. No, it's not. TONE is cool. And EMGs have none.

I had EMG's for about a week in my hellraiser before I had to get rid of them because they sounded like SHIT and were REALLY muddy IMO

I have a PAF Pro in the neck and a Super Distortion in the bridge of my 2009 Schecter Hellraiser, and I was wondering what everyone else thought about the pickups if you've played them or have them :)

yes i do, they are amazing.

i have the dimazio 2xn's one in series and one in parallel, and they sound super good,
i use bridge for distortion and harmonics and neck for clean, bassier sound, often times with delay/reverb ect ect

I weirdly enough use my Super Distortion in my bridge for playing chords / rythem mostly and cleans when I use split coil mode.
I use my neck pickup for lead o.o
I just think it sounds better. Weird but it works.

Yet again you're not willing to understand anything.

I'm not talking only about gain, they have an awesome tone nonetheless.

Oh and I bet I listen to more diversified music than you do, so I'd cut the br00talz crap thing.

Just stop fucking whining about something because you don't like it, and accept the facts that they ARE good.

/E: I'm awaiting your next rage/whining paragraph, hoping to get a good laugh at it.

You're using the PAF in neck for leads? :O Weird.. Can you record a sample so I can hear how it sounds like?

I bet you don't...lol....
I'm not whining, i just know tone, and EMGs lack it.
They are good for heavy metal, and that is IT.
That's why NOBODY except heavy metal guitarists use them.
Because they hide behind their wall of gain and 4x12 cabs.
