Now speak about mudvayne. (not saying he's not skilled, as he's better than me, but def. not the best by far).
If you're speaking about "originality", probly all metal bassist can't match peeps like Victor wooten, etc.

I am in no way saying they are the best bassists, just very good metal bassists

But yeah, check out Quo Vadis (the old line-up, i can't really judge the new one, but i doubt it can match the older one..GG.)
ex. of songs : Silence call the storm / Hunter Killer / Dead man diary / Absolution.

This is a quebec band, and i'm from there hehe. Really nice bands here atm.. (ex.: Quo Vadis, Kataklysm, Despised Icon, etc..)

Gojira is a pretty "new" band, melodic and technical. It's original, but really great.

Actually, Mudvayne's bassist is really good, despite the band he's in.

yeah but the guys statment was still dumb "the only metal band with a skilled bassist"

I'm saying skilled as musically intelligent.
yeah there are others that play good, but do they have a degree in music...no?
