Agathis body on bass is a no thanks.

Also active pick ups for metal bass are a yes.

Which that bass lacks.

No.

Active Pickups are disgusting, they sound like shit. Passive is superior. Especially if you're playing bass, you're going to want all the clarity you can get. You do want to be heard and not just in the background I assume?

Also, don't get an ESP, I've played on tons of their guitars, and you can get much better quality for the money.

Get a vintage fender bass ( 90's, you can get them cheap off of eebay )

Or a Schecter bass.

The whole point of active pickups is clarity and definition of notes.

Schecter is shit compared to esp. Fender makes amazing basses for everything but metal.

my bassist uses a fender and we are metalcore/screamo and it sounds amazing.

hmmm, fender doesn't seem much like a metal bass company.

and i was thinking spector over schecter.

and i think i would have to go to a guitar shop and play both active and passive to see what is more my style.

I'm not much for basses but Spector probably would be the way to go
