Work hard and practice. Your band will develop as your individual playing develops. It takes time. The important thing is that you are all progressing and having fun while doing so. Anyone telling you otherwise needs to re-evaluate why they play music.
I will poke fun a little bit though... a First Act guitar? That needs to be replaced as soon as possible. If you are going to keep playing guitar, you need a good foundation. A Wal-Mart guitar is not a good foundation.

haha yeah i know... thats micheal with the first act, but he makes it sounds hella good. ive got a kona, and im planning on getting a schecter soon. hopefully lol.
