I was checking that out, and had some questions...


for instance, what are accented notes, primary notes, grace notes etc? I never learned much about reading music.


also, which of those on that list should I learn first? Today I learned how to paradiddle.

accented notes are louder hits, volume depends on what you sort of sound you are aiming for i suppose
primary notes are your average shot
and grace notes/ghost notes are lighter (3-5 cm from drum imo)

I guess I'll practice these for awhile

doubles keep throwing me off when I speed it up

then again I am using an electric kit, the rebound is kinda meh. Plus cheap drumsticks...

I really need some more arm strength too, for high tempo beats.

now I'm trying to get better at pedaling the hi-hate...

I wish there was some exercise to get better at that, heh.
