No need for 7-string.
Just drop your strings down on the 6

keep playing a year and 3 months is not long enough to move up too a 7 string guitar imo.

I personally like 7 strings they have there place in music just like all instruments.

A 7th string isn't needed unless you'll be playing songs up to a low B. But then again you can just de-tune to Drop D or Drop C.

But yeah, unless you really feel the need, don't get a 7-string. And since you've been playing only for about a year, that's not enough.
