Dont spend much money on a guitar. If you are spending 400 bucks in total, its best to get a 300 dollar amp and a 100 dollar guitar. If you go the other way aruond you will have a mediocre guitar with a shit amp, so in general you have a shitty sound. If you spend 100 dollars on guitar you get a shitty guitar, but you get a good amp so you have a pretty good sound. Remember 95% of your tone (the way it sounds) comes from the amp not the guitar.
On another note, playing on v style guitars is not difficult at all. Its just a different style, you would play them as you would a classical guitar. You stick the bottom spike under your leg and the top spike over your leg. So the v is kind of hugging you at the thigh.
