But my personal advice is epiphone sg..great for beginer or anyone for that matter I have friends with gibsons jacksons esp etc and almost all them own an epi sg and play it more often then the others haha

thats the yamaha i first started on

the next guitar i got after it was an ibanez s and i've been a big fan of ibanez s series since then

for 3-400 you can get either a mexican strat or tele, and while they aren't by any means the best guitar, they blow epiphones and squires out of the water. i wouldn't advise getting that yamaha guitar. you'd just be setting yourself up for a huge letdown haha. I myself have a really beat up mexican telecaster as well as 2 american strats, and the tele is by far my favorite.

Fender Mexican Stratocaster (Cheaper and heavier then the American Version)

or my favourate, Fender Telecaster. I wouldn't get squire, they suck, go buy a nice guitar 2nd hand.
