for turn table i dont think theory would be a requirement but i guess knowing theory behind rhythm would help immensely. In my opinion, having a firm understanding of basic music theory would help
anyone
who plays
any
type of music.

As musicians, do you feel that Turntablism is a skill on-par with playing other traditional instruments? Why or why not?
No.

just because a person is self taught dosnt mean they didnt learn theory and other things
Vouch. I'm self-taught, I don't know music theory quite yet, but
I'm working on it.

Ofc yes! Good DJ must have rythm feeling and good ear
. Ofc, he musn't know how to play guitar or piano, but musical predispositions are needed.

I don't know a single DJ that just uses turntables. It typically requires a Synth, a mixer, and one or two tables.
I'm sure people use even more but fuck that I have a hard enough time with those.

I think that's pretty wrong. Takes a lot of practice from what I've heard to actually be considered good. In fifth grade I played the saxophone, and that was pretty damn easy for me. I'm sure this would be a different story.

Dear god you're a fucking idiot for thinking that.
Yes, it definitely is a skill, especially if you're working with very odd time signatures.
