not everyone has the dough to spend on a guitar teacher, there a plenty of accomplished self taught guitarist out there. all you gotta do is get to know the guitar by trying to play the songs u enjoy and when you get comfortable with the feel of the guitar then u can try out your theory:scales,modes,etc... dont pay a teacher for something you can learn yourself, unless u really can afford it or daddy or mommy can biggrin.gif

Uhm, no. Because a few self taught gutarists have succeeded, that does not mean its a good idea. It's an anamoly, and is extremely rare, and usually is reliant in an innate talent.

You are really fucking stupid. A teacher teaches you things that take you 10x as much time to learn on your own. With a teacher to supplement textbook material, and physically correct your technique, and help you develop it..you're get better much faster, and be infinately better in the end.

I would recomend learning your scales, try finger exercises, if you have to use tabs do so, but try to learn how to read music. If you dont have money to learn from a professional you could always buy some software to help you along.

Most people claim they have never took lessons.
Everyone has.
