Looking for some advice. Basically, I've always owned guitars, never took lessons seriously. Love, love, love music, have always wanted to learn to play. Pretty serious at this point in my life about it.

Just looking for some advice on a halfway decent guitar and amp to buy. Something that isn't going to break my wallet but still be viable later on, if nothing else, just the guitar. I listen to a lot of Alternative stuff. Favorite band is the Pixies. Def going to probably try to pick up some of their songs for fun, but really just want to learn to play.

Price range is a pretty important factor. What are you looking to spend?

probably about 450-500 for the guitar, 200-300 for the amp? is that good enough?

Mexican tele and a nice hybrid amp.. I just bought a Kustom hv30, and it sounds great..

Seriously the best bang for your buck.

When your just starting out don't buy anything over 100$ guitar wise because you want to make sure you will be into it. If you find you like it upgrade to a better guitar. A very nice guitar for beginners is the Epiphone Les Paul Junior model.

I have starter guitars. Not feeling like they are good enough for the level I want to learn on. That's why I made this.

A little shop in my town had one.. Plugged into it and fell in love with it. The only preset I don't like is the auto wah, it sounds like shit.

But anyways, either a Mexican Tele, a Epiphone Les Paul standard or a used PRS Tremonti.

What about an amp, if I can't find that one. I am looking at the Epiphone now.
