Just started trying to really learn guitar in the past two days with my guitar I bought earlier this year.

Fingers are killing and the tips feel numb lmao.

But wonder if you guys have any tips for starting?

I've been learning small songs like the start of
Use Somebody - Cords...
C major
E minor
F major

A minor

G Major - 6,3,2,3,4,3

and my buddy is trying to teach me the start of slide by goo goo dolls.

Obviously I'm terrible and I'm having a tough time switching but working on getting the switching down from different cords.

What are some of the cord patterns I should really work on or Cords in general from switching to in random orders like E to G to A ect...?

Those chords will build the foundation for years of playing.

Also, entirely normal for your fingers to hurt after playing - especially a new guitar. It will take a couple of weeks, maybe a solid week of practise every day for a couple of hours to build up some toughness on those pretty finger tips - and with that practise you will find yourself changing chords much faster, easier, using them in different patterns and rhythms.

Am stand for A minor?

By the way I really like the sound of C to A minor for some reason the A minor is my favorite cord haha (Maybe because it's about the only one I can consistently get to sound perfect)

Confused on the F major is it strings E B G D
E-open, B-1frat, G-2frat,D3-frat or ... E-1frat, B-1frat, G-2frat,D3-frat (I can't hold E1 and B1 down at the same time)

You can make the song more interesting by subbing D with D7 (xx0212) and F with Fmaj7 (xx3210).

ty for that extra bit Me2Nik, I have not really played around with the song much I just play it variation stylee now I have a new variation stylee lol

try to learn the rules of the chords...

chords are made by triades ( i speak bad english so sorry)... for example the triades of C its: C (I) E (III) G (V)... If you want to make C7 just add the VII°...if you want to make Cm just put the III major in III minor (E -->Eb).. If you want to make Cm7 Put in Cm ( C-Eb-G) the VII°.. so he's going to be: C-Eb-G-Bb)

just learn those rules..:) it's so easy!

My advice to you, don't get too caught up in the music terminology. Learn the tools you need, then apply them and shape some nice music.
Learn how to play in key and anticipate the next note. If you practice the right stuff, you'll compartmentalize and use what you know much more effortlessly.

Really starting to enjoy playing, I've been doing much better switching cords.

I'm finally getting the song Time of your life by green day to actually sound pretty good!

I can't pick still but the strumming is pretty good and I'm getting quicker and smoother at switching chords and strumming.
