I saw these guys live when they opened for Thrice, i had never heard of thrice, and to be honest, i didn't like thrice.
These guys are really intense and i love their cohesiveness, they deserve some more spotlight.

Thoughts?

Horribly boring wanky prog stuff. It sounds like more like an instructional video than a band.

Coincidentally, I have seen both Thrice and Animals As Leaders, both with Darkest Hour. Thrice were pretty cool, AAL were boring. Lots of talent, no creativity. Navene, their drummer, is very good, but hasn't shown it with them.

Really? that sucks you find them boring, i really enjoy how they jump time signatures so they can play independently but play together. that type of push-pull feeling, I find that extremely creative, you don't get anything like AAL nowadays, then again, i'v never been a fan of bands that go mainstream. i prefer progressive music, i find that it expands my mind in a spiritual sense, and as a musician. AAL's drummer is a beast, and i loved seeing them live.

I saw Thrice/AAL/O'Brother.

I found Thrice to be the least interesting, How do you find it to be an instructional video?

Wrong forum my man - This should be in songs&bands, and AAL are awful. It really is painful on the ears - as Zodi said, no creativity.

Love AAL! Really challenging stuff to play with drums.

Like Zodi and Bob said, they're boring.

All the members are VERY talented, there's no denying that, but their song composition is horrible.

I've heard so much about them, but when I gave them a good listen, I just didn't feel it. If you're looking for some good instrumental "djent", try Angel Vivaldi. Less progressive, but very good.

Anyways, I remember these guys, they were interesting and talented to say the least. It was crazy to watch, mainly because I've never heard anything like it lol

I wouldn't say their song composition is horrible, they've obviously mapped out these songs/time signatures. I didn't really dig them completely as well, but mostly because if I try to follow the time sigs, it just goes over my head
