lol like there is some set law that you use these for only these purposes.

This is just an opinion. I don't record in ProTools and them import my files into Logic just to mix lol.. that's just stupid.

Pick one program that is good for the reason you will be using if for and stick with it.

I use Cubase as an artist/producer/engineer.

Just wondering as you both clearly know your production shit, how much money you spend on the software and guitar hardware? Not including the instrument ofc, but the software mainly...

They have versions for each software usually that are cheaper but lack some features. But full versions of software like the newest protools or cubase or something is around $500. If your a student you can get it for $400.

There are also cheaper versions with fewer features than the full versions, range between $100-$300

Hardware wise, all you need (and i'm assuming your making metal music) is a decent amp, which im sure you alrdy have. A large or small diaphram dynamic mic, audio interface and your computer :D

The mic, cables, mic stand, audio interface all together probobly cost around $500. If you want you recordings to sound decent.

You can get crap gear for probobly $300

rewire FL studio into Reason

its good to have a DAW in a DAW so you can make music while you are making music... you know what i mean?
