I can't post vids at work - but I am not kidding when I say this - Herman Li's sweeping video is good.
When I couldn't sweep, but really wanted to learn, I watched his Video and like it or not - he does a good job or teaching you to sweep.
Be careful when looking for this video -Herman Li became so hated so quickly that there are so many spoof versions of his vid out there lol. Seriosuly though, it's a good lesson and he says the right stuff
This will also help - but watch the vid first
Herman Li is probably the worst person you could learn to sweep from. His sweeps are extremely sloppy and uneven.
The key is to start slow and master the motion. IT needs to be fluid. You need to lift each finger just enough to kill the note as you move across strings, and you need to combine that with right hand muting as well - laying your hand slightly on the strings just enough that it's killing each string as you move across. The video posted above is a great starting point.
