well you could either save until you can find a cheap used kit, or just get some sticks and start learning rudiments. you really don't NEED a practice pad for that. actually playing on pillows and using wrist only will help you develop the muscles required.

Would you reccomend this for anyone who does NOT have room for a drum set in the house? ( I live with my folks )

I want learn how to drum, and i was actually thinking of just getting a foot pedal and making a super ghetto drumset kit out of buckets, pots and pans. am i crazy for thinking about this?

Thats pretty ridiculous

get a small 4 piece kit. 2 cymbals and a ride.

Or get a Roland Td9 K series

you'd be better served saving up for a cheap set. you can find cheap ones on craigslist, and on the internet in general.

until then buy some sticks and start learning rudiments and technique

you don't need a set if you want to be good. if you want to just fuck around then buy whatever the hell you want, why would it matter? most people are terrible at playing the drums, even the ones who think they're really good.

if you actually want to get good at it you don't need to spend more than 60$ on a pretty nice pad and some decent sticks. if you're learning drumset, don't just start playing it unless you're pretty musically inclined. like i said, most people who just pick up the drumset start out terrible and never get any better. learn to play on one surface with two limbs, then proceed to spread out once you can read music and play all of the basic rudiments
