I've been looking at buying a dream guitar that will last me all my days.

I play Christian folk/rock/pop/blues
I've been looking at real high end Martins mostly. The Performing Artist series mostly. (i'm looking at doing gigs later down the road)

I'm not sure if there is a big differenve between Taylor and Martin but i know they are both good companies.

Does anyone have experience or info about either company or their guitars that they could tell me?

$900 as a dream guitar? thats freaking weak.

I'm thinking $2000-$3000.

But I think I know what your saying. By continuing to play guitar I can get that dream sound I've always wanted... if that's what your saying than it's only half true.

Sure I can learn to play better and ring better on the strings, but a $200 guitar doesn't even compare to a $3000 one in tone/balance/action/bass/tremble.

Dude go get a Gibson SG Special - absolutely awesome guitars, had mine for 6 years and counting! Good investment aswell because you get Gibson quality, and coz it's Special not Standard, $300 less than the standard so prolly $700-$800 tops.

Or, if you are shred happy, go get a Jackson Kelly KE3 Skulls :D

Oh right ok wasn't aware xD

Martin/Taylor do great acoustics, but Fender/Washburn do some awesome ones too.

TBH - You need to get into a BIIIG guitar store and have a look at price range > makes

Any time I go looking at acoustics I always find myself being amazed at the Taylors, normally for my taste between any martin or taylor of comparable value I like the taylor much more of the two, they have this great ringing mid range tonal quality that I think just sounds amazing.
