Well I would suggest checking out www.ultimate-guitar.com they have lessons and all sorts of information for beginners and experts alike. I can't really help you on-line other then point you in the right direction. It is easier to teach in person.

Guitar is a percussion-instrument. Your skill is defined by the volume of your instrument. You get bonus score by hitting it faster than others.

www.ultimate-guitar.com search your favorite song and learn how to read tab. If you really want to be a musician on a guitar (unlike 90% of players including me lol) learn how to read guitar music or Legit tablature. There is a difference between a regular tab and legit tab- its not much but look in a Guitar World Magazine. Youtube has great lessons too
