Get Reaper (free recording-software), and a Line6 pod.

http://line6.com/podx3/

You don't basically need anything else. Except guitar ofc ._.

In case you dont want to purchase anything, put a cable from you amp's "line output" to computers "line input."
Then set the incoming "microphone recording" as "line input" from Windows' options. You should be able to record now.

Though the sound will be very raw, and you are probably going to suffer heavy lag due to Windows' & line input's communication.

Yes you need an adapter (6mm -> 3.1mm, metric system)

Yeah its only so-so. But most audio interfaces you will purchase come with software, so I would recommend using that. The M-Audio Mbox is a great interface for cheap, and has a really good sample rate, and has little to no visible latency.

Avoid using a Line 6 POD, they are junk. M-Audio and Creative both make cheap ($100-120) USB interfaces that are better quality all around. MBOX mini is only $249 and comes with ProTools so that's also something worth investing in if you are buying gear.

Aside from buying new gear, the cheapest and easiest way to record for a YouTube video is to run your guitar directly through your interface and apply any of the thousands of free VST amplifier/cabinet modeling softwares. If you are not familiar with recording and not looking to learn a lot about it, this is the best option. If you need recording software, Reaper works fine for recording and as a VST host program.

If you want to record your amp, you will need to start with at least one good microphone (Shure SM57 is my pick) and a microphone stand, then play around with positioning on the speaker. Andy Sneap often uses a single SM57 1" off center and perpendicular to the speaker, that's a perfect start for a good hard rock/metal tone (though if you're not looking for something heavy, I'm not sure as I don't really do that...)
