Looking for some easier songs to cover for bass.

4/4 time, lower-mid tempo, 1 key, basic stuff.....no slapping/popping, not too many hammer ons (still learning to make those sound good, whenever I do them the hammered on notes have like no volume)

just to help me get better at timing, moving around the board, etc.

Start with some 12 bar blues.

Bust a move - Young M.C.
The Joker - Steve Miller
Gold - Ben Harper

hmm... hit something like enter sandman... nothing to complicated and its a little bit of a move around
or something like dani california by red hot chili peppers its got parts all over the neck.. or maybe snow (hey oh)
or if you want a bit of a challenge... orion but that has hammerons.... but it will sound good if you pick all the notes or fingerpick whatever you do

hmm maybe try some lostprophets softer stuff... they have some slow bass stuff like
1. broken hearts torn up letters, and the story of a lonely girl
2. last summer
3. rooftops
4. town called hipocrisy

Alright this may not be the "Easiest" song but try Californication by The Red Hot Chilli Peppers
It has quite a bit of hammer-ons but I think it's good way to get used to them
The song is in A minor (C Major) So there is no flats or sharps
The song does change key but it won't effect you too much
Just trust me man
Check it out atleast.

this is a good idea... you have to push to the hard stuff instead of sticking with easy stuff
