Whenever I speak into my mic, I get very high pitched feedback, I don't know what to do?

Turn down the gain on the mic? Are you using any sort of equalizer?

Your mic sensitivity is probably too high. The sound coming in the mic is very loud, and you end up with distorted sound. See if you can find out how to adjust the mic sensitivity, also record further away from the mic if you need to.

What mic are you using?

Even bad mic's should be able to record, I record vocals of my own voice with my laptop mic because I love the crunchy sound it makes

Like other users said; Lower the input gain.

What are you using it on now? Maybe you're ASIO driver isn't compatible to it or your ASIO driver is really bad.
Maybe look at the preferences of your DAW.. Must be something.

I'd say your mic is broke but if it works in FL and Skype etc (;
