anyone know where I can find an easily understandable site with the important bass guitar scales I should learn?

I'm basically green to the bass (never learned guitar or anything like that) and need to work from the bottom of the hole up. A site with good beginner resources would be nice. This is for bass guitar though, not regular guitar (if there is a difference?) so please cite a source for that.

any other tips are welcome..

I've played drums for like 2 years now, but I think I would enjoy bass as well. Just need to figure out what to do.

scales have nothing to do with strings

every scale has the same notes lol

A guitar is tuned:

E
B
G
D
A
E

a bass:

G
D
A
E

a scale only has 6-7 notes, but is played over again on another octave to make it seem longer

so are there any particular scales I should learn first as a complete newbie?

major and minor scales check out the site bassmasta they have a bunch of tabs that u should look through.

also i would strongly suggest buying this book its very helpfull for trying to improve finger strength and dexterity. its called "Hal Leonard Bass Fitness - An Exercising Handbook Book".

i also would suggest to you since you are obviously familiar with a forum lol, trying out this forum called talkbass. its better for stuff like this people are more knowledgeable for this kinda stuff on there and could probably help you.

if u have any questions feel free to pm me.
