So a lot of new bands starting around my area need drummers. I'm aware I won't be able to be good for a while, but I've always wanted to play, so why not.

My first concern is sound. Yes I know, but I live in a quite neighborhood, and I'm wondering if I should go with electronic drums versus acoustic. Or if there are other measures I could take.

Secondly, what drum set should I get? I mostly listen to Guns N' Roses, but I also listen to Coldplay.

But in all seriousness if you're just starting get a cheap electronic drum set. I've had my fair share of neighbors complaining and calling the cops so take it from me; it's something you want to avoid.

However, if you can find a place to jam (storage places in industrial areas are pretty good) try an acoustic. Nothing beats the feel of a real kit.

HAHA YEAH MAN so true! Mind you though, I had an acoustic set in my apartment... Never had many calls from the cops though.

I would highly recommend you do not buy an electronic drum set. If you can play without neighbors complaining, get an acoustic drumset. If you cannot, drums aren't for you.

Worst bullshit I've ever heard.

I'll agree with Ghost_Smoke, if you can find a good place to jam, then get an acoustic because no electronic drum can match the feel and sound of an acoustic. Though if you live somewhere quiet, you should go with an electronic, even though they are quite expensive.

But don't listen to that idiot of PSPZorZ. If you wanna play drums, then play 'em, should it be an acoustic set or an electric.

gnr > coldplay

cuz coldplay sucks... especially if youre listening to them for drumming lol

sound deadening padding for your walls will help but not eliminate the problem... i recommend finding a rehearsal space thats not your home

If you want to learn playing drums don`t buy electronic set.. try to find a space where you can hit accoustics without being botherd by neighbours etc..
