Need a good overall pedal for electric guitar, I play a lot of Nirvana right now so something that would sound good with them. For around 150 bucks max.

Is there any generic ones that would fit in general? It doesn't have to be extract replica. I just want something that sounds really cool and would fit the grunge theme. I would use it on my own songs as well.

well no multi effects pedal will sound good, but if I had to pick one for $150 i wouldn't. Save up for at LEAST a boss gt-8 or a pod xt. I still think they both sound horrid tho (400$)

To answer your question, there is no best pedal.

May favorite so far that I own (only own a wha-wha and this) is the voodoo labs sparkle drive. It's a tube screamer with clean boost, it's sweet.

Yes.

My friend had this pedal, the DigiTech Grunge, closest I've ever heard anything come to Nirvana's tone. It's cheap, sturdy, and will get you the sound you're looking for. No need to buy an expensive rig, or do anything like that. If you want his sound down to perfection, yeah you'll have to get some more stuff, but on a budget this is pretty damn good.

Here's a pic so you know what to look for :

If I recall correctly, it's still very much in circulation so you can probably pick it up new or used at your local guitar center.

(dont get me wrong i love nirvana, but their tone is less than desirable)
