I'm looking to do a new drum video that will be popular with the youtube public <- keep that in mind when making suggestions please :)

There isnt really a limit on how hard it is, as i dont mind spending time learning it

It could be anything from a latin drum solo to me playing drums along to a country & western song with death metal style drums, or a direct cover of a song with a well known drummer. Anything really, you can even just put up suggestions of songs you would like to hear drums to like william tell or something and not say the particular style you want me to perform...

So, if you have anything coming to mind - post here

I'd be very impressed if someone would be able to cover some mars volta drum lines. Especially the newer stuff ( like ouroborous :o ).

Another real challenge would be something from Zach Hill, like this:

If you are into death metal I'd reccomend doing a song by Vital Remains, they have the best blast beats. Here's an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExtFZGO2WZM

really if you are looking for popularity on youtube, do what kind of music you like find the hardest songs for that style make sure you do a good job, then make a few improv vids, and then advertise, tell your friends tell your neighbor tell the homeless guy down the street, youll be youtube famous in no time

I think that sounded like shit. I also dislike blast beats. I think a drummer should groove and keep rhythm rather than just whack away as quickly as possible.

good ones are very well crafted they aren't just "whacking as fast as possible" Also blast beats DO groove, as long as the entire song isn't blast beats.

Indeed. I think that's one of the main reasons why I was never into bands like between the buried and me. I think they abuse blast beats.

Cover the Hi-Hat solo Thomas Lang does on his DVD, "Creative Control".

If you can. ;)

Try Overthrown by Arsis.

Or The Conductor's Departure by Anata. The intro in this one's pretty cool.

I don't think either of these songs have a good drum cover on youtube.
