Jacksons are overall nice guitars for their money. Crazy as this sounds some of the best guitars I have played for metal were actually modified fender's. atm I am playing a fender deluxe strat, single emg 81 active, reverse seventies headstock, locking nut, licensed floyd rose tremelo. All black, maple fretboard. Honestly one of the most badass sounding guitars I have played, I basically put the bitch together from pieces from warmoth and eeebay, and an old fender I had had.
Strats have incredibly smooth necks, which makes it easy to do the intricate stuff for heavier types of metal. I was actually thinking about building a custom one myself, but I haven't the time or money as of late to start a " frankenstein guitar " project.
