as a rule: dont get a squier

I would agree with this, but squiers are damn cheap. I would instead say only get a squier if you can't afford anything better. I would rather you spend a little more and get a mexi strat or a mid range Schecter for your first electric.

I'm only allowed to work 12 hrs a week at my job study. So I can only make $180 every two weeks. I don't feel like waiting since I been looking at this sexy guitar and heard such great things of it. If I had a lot of money I would buy a mexican strat. This is the best guitar in my price range ($250)

Imo you should just wait a bit longer and get a Fender, once you have it u won't regret it >.<

I don't see the need to buy just for the emblem. I've heard this guitar sounds nearly identical to lower end fender strats. I'm not worried about the Squier name.

it's the better quality and parts you're buying. save up and either get a mexican strat or tele. they're only $100ish more than a squire, and 300% better imo. i've had mexican strats and one of my favorite guitars is my mexican tele.

get a used ibanez guitar from craigslist
