5 string = bass unless you're missing a string somewhere ^^
base = scrub instrument, learn-able within a day or two.
I am truly starting to believe that everything around you is a scrub and you are some what of a tree in all this. O_o Your opinions are slowly starting to lose value to me.

Well i got this random 5 string guitar from my friend so I feel I should try it out.
I like country music and all rock types.
Does anyone have any good starter tips?
Anyways, check at the neck... if there are 5 pegheads (the little thingies that turn adjust the sound of the string) then it is a bass, if six, then you are missing one and it is a guitar.
Best way to start is to figure out what instrument you are playing.
Try getting accustomed to the feeling the bass or guitar has... like just try playing with all the noobness you got. Then try to search the web for easy scales to slowly start adapting your fingers to moving around the neck, or you can also find easy songs with a couple of notes... well, not songs but riffs. I for myself started with Enter the Sandman and Seven Nation Army. >_> But it was a start.
