Songs I have learned so far on acoustic guitar:

Paint it black by the rolling stones
Adams Song by blink 182
Iron Man by black sabbath
Smoke on the Water by deep purple

I suck with chords at the moment. I'm looking for easy punk songs to play. I'm currently learning Ocean Avenue by yellowcard. Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

I think you, like many other guitarists, are falling into the punk genre because it's easy to play. I think it's better to try learning songs that are too hard for you than it is to learn songs that you can play easily. If you try to learn crazy train right now, it will sound horrible. It's a relatively simple song, though, so it should only take a couple of weeks to master. Once you've done that, any songs using similar techniques just became that much easier.

If I were you, I would strive to learn as many difficult-sounding songs as possible, regardless of how slowly you have to play them at first. Once you've mastered a song, every other song is that much easier to learn. I've been playing guitar for 6 years now, and most songs that I come across are simple enough that I can either play them by ear, or glance at a tab for a minute and then play the song. It's all about learning the technique, and then applying it to a song.

No I'm falling into the punk genre because I love the music. I have used crazy train to practice numerous times. I mostly need to practice with chords.
