Do yourself a favor and dont get marshall amps unless you're going to go expensive/tube.
What is your price range for the guitar, and for the amp, ill find something, but nonetheless it's good starter gear smile.gif.
I started with an epiphone les paul, and a fender combo, i just used a distortion pedal through it and got a sick metal sound.
now i run a gibson les paul, into a b-52 at-100 half stack or a mesa boogie triple rectifier half stack tongue.gif.

I think you should spend more on your amp than your guitar.

This amp.
Tube, 5 watts means you can crank it to the max as well as pre-amp distortion.

This guitar.
Yamaha Pacifica Humbucker for good crunchy rythm and single coil for good lead

Note, i know why you may want the JSRR, it looks awesome. Well it doesnt play awesome, its shit. You will need more money for something that plays well and looks good. My suggestions are based on how you will get the best tone. Im not sure how much you will be able to drive the peavey for metal but so for you would only put up 350, so if necessary if you can save up like 30 more dollars you can get this pedal.

Pedal. Metal Muff

Jackson makes excellent metal guitars, especially starter ones. Good choice there, no complaints.

For a decent small practice amp (solo practice, no $100 amp is gonna match up to a drum set and bass) Peavey makes pretty decent amps to just sit down and jam/practice with.

Boss Metal Zone or Metal Muff pedals are pretty nice investments to help you find a nice tone.

Actually jacksons starter guitars are just as bad as any other companies. They charge you for the cool shape that is all. And stay away from the boss metalzone/metalcore basically any boss pedal that has metal on it. They are not very good, you are better off with a metal muff or maybe an overdrive pedal.

To each his own, I think the metal zone adds a nice black metal tone to my SG which I like when I feel like playing in that style, but yes I'd agree Metal Muff is superior.

Well just from previous experience.

i would definitely not start out with the Flying V style guitar.
their nice looking, and sure they dont play any different

but they do get pretty annoying sitting with them.

but it's all up to how your going to be playing with it.

but other than that it's a decent guitar i guess

well, if you really suck. don't spend much money on an amp until you get good.
