idk what kind of music you intend to play, but a double bass pedal is always good. even if the music you play doesnt have a lot of double bass, it can still be used for great accents.
Unfortunately i dont know a whole lot about drum gear.
If you are into a lot of double bass id say saving up for Axis Pedals or DW 9000's would be ideal. According to some drummers I've played with, they're the best to have.

I also kind of like jazz but I havent listened to much of it
Ive listened to alot of peart and moon, studying them perhaps. Ill never obviously be as good as them but I like their styles, what with dramatic drum fills and off the wall beats and interesting twists and turns in their drumming, to make it unique.
