been playing for almost 1 year.

trying to learn some easy ones right now..but what should i do to learn songs faster???
normally it takes me 2 weeks maybe if i'm really lazy and don't practice..1 week if i'm not lazy.

There isn't anything else. Practise makes perfect There are no shortcuts in guitar, lots of people don't seem to understand this.

Maybe try thinking about how to play chords in a different places on the neck...Without gui in hand, ya know, just bopping around @ work or school or whatever (at a non-"Thinking of something you need to be thinking of" time of course).

Kind of like a , " I wonder how it'd play if I played it like this" kinda of deal. It'll make you a less linear thinker when it comes to playing stuff your hear and wanna play, even if you KNOW it's played in "this" position..
...At least for me.

But that's practicing in a way, just without having a gui on ya.

It might not make you learn faster, but your overall playing will improve dramatically if you buy a metronome and always play with that running.

All depends on the genre of music i listen to metal core which is mainly a variation of power chord followed by appregio, i just stick to the main notes rather than the actual pm'd notes...

Chords are straight forward just strum it slowly and master your chord linking.

Blues, have warm up and just play it.

but even if i bought it how should i practicet...i was thinking to play it at some tempo 5 x perfectly then keep moving up the tempo a little bit until u get it.

hhmm. you could buy one of those guitars with the LEDs on every fret. they light up to show you the notes of any given scale. or you could get a better teacher. i think about the fingerings/scales all day at work (when im not playing LS on d2jsp that is) then go home and apply any new ideas to that particular instrument. tonight for example i am going to try some 9th chords in a bluegrass song. been in my head all day!
if the problem is that your getting tired of practicing guitar, buy a different instrument and go back and forth. warning: you might end up with a house full of instruments.

Everybody knows that's what every rockstar does, DUH!

lol......besides that.

i dont play guitar, but i play violin...

so what i do is listen to as many different type of violin genres.

for me, this opens my mind to a wider way of playing that particular bar, song etc
