Hey, I'm a great John Bonham fan and I have assembled a set like his, 26 x 14 bass, 14 x 12 mounted tom, 16 x 16 floor tom, 18 x 16 floor tom, and a supersonic snare. I'm using all zildjian custom A cymbals right now, a 22" ride 14" high hats 17" and 19" crash. I'm looking into getting a 24" ride, a 18" z custom china, and of course a GONG. If anyone has used these before, could you please let me know what kind, how they sounded, and if you liked them, thanks.
-Mitch

I'm not a drummer, but my friend is, and he uses all zildjian's. If you already are using some of them you might want to keep them all the same brand.

Ya, I gave up on d2jsp for my drum needs, haha. I found a drum forum and got some responses there. Looking into some K Zildjians now.

You want the advice of other people on cymbals? Go out to your music store and bang on them yourself.

Everyone has different tastes.

And it is stupid to setup your kit like another drummers. Might as well set yourself up for failure, because you'll never play what John Bonham did, yet you'll sound the same.

Well aren't we Mr. Negative douche bag. I would enjoy it if your arms fell off because you seem to have no idea what your talking about. I could set up my drum set like anyone else does, maybe I like the sound of the sizes? There are so many variables in drumming that it doesn't matter. I never stated I was mimicking his style I just like the way it flows. Good day. Fuck you.

He may set up he's set as he wishes. Actually setting up drum set as replica of your own favourite drummer may encourage and make drumming more motivating!

It's hard to say what cymbals are "good", but like Rike1 allready mentioned, local music store & their test-chamber is you friend here smile.gif
I bought my Zildjian A-Custom 24" MegaBell ride after i was testing it for fun. ( I was actually there to test Paiste 2002-series rides, but ended up with a-custom biggrin.gif)
I would recommend you to check it out, the sound is so "pingy" but still so dark, and the bell, oh lord it makes me horny biggrin.gif
Worth every euro.

Other good 24" ride i've heard to be good is Paiste Rude-series ride. Check 'em out.
