Indeed.
And creativity trumps technical prowess any day.
imo hendrix is waaaay overrated! i love many of his songs. and find his playing really good! but all this braggin about that he's the best and stuff... nope.
thank god he was a bluesrock player.. or else he would have sucked, because he played too sloppy xD
also i think such top lists are bullshit anyways.. they cant be objective. i mean.. on what would you base such ratings? on hits? on technique? on sound? creativity? all these aspects have their own stars...
so many styles, so many artists... too many great players to seariously do a top list

imo gary moore is way better than hendrix, srv or clapton. simply becourse he was equally talented, had an f*cking awesome -i'd say the best- sound, composed great songs & solos.
this live version of moore with bb king shows how great he is... (btw bbking too :D)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUaevnP1LLgbut to get to the topic:
i cant really make a ranking xD simply because all are great!
Hendrix's versions of "hey joe" and "all along the watchtower" -- or his songs "foxy lady" "purple haze" "voodoo chile" ... great
Clapton in cream "white room", his version of "i shoot the sheriff", or his ballads
SRV -- his version of "mary had a little lamb" kills me every time i hear it

-- "pride and joy" ... nothing else to say!
So my Top 3 of these 3 would be:
#1 - Hendrix & Clapton & SRV
#2 ---
#3 ---
