This thread will be for album recommendations from this year. What albums are on your list so far this year?

I liked the Knife's new one a lot even though they had a 10 minute+ song of noise which pissed me off. Streetlight's new album was great and got better for me on subsequent listens and Kanye West's new album was catchy as hell, as well.

Looking for new ones from this year so post your top picks so far.

Well so far for me :

Caladan Brood - Echoes of Battle



One of the greatest atmospheric black metal album imo and it was their first album, it's highly Summoning influenced tho, but they still succeeded in making something original and epic.

Real step up back to form after disappointing Endgame / 13 albums, real good album

Alice in Chains - Devil put Dinosaurs Here

Really really good, nuff said

Mad Shadow - Heavy Blues

Don't know if there's an album coming out this year that can top this. Perfect blend of garage jam sounding classic rock with a SERIOUS Led Zep vibe from the singer and guitarist - absolutely fucking superb album.

Airbourne - Black Dog Barking

Fuckin great, best album by them to date

Gorguts and Avulsed will be out later in the year.

the new amorphis was really good too, once i got used to it. dunno about album of the year, but its certainly good.
