I was just curious. I've been pretty occupied with work and my Internet connection has been screwed limiting my downloading ability but back in the day I'd go through about 2-3 new albums a day on average. For a while I only listened to new stuff and didn't go back to anything old unless something popped into my head on-the-fly.

This thread can double as a "recent find/discovery" thread. Post albums, new or old, that you recently came across that blew you away.

Two recent favorites for me are:

Jazzy Frank Zappa. A few long tracks, change of pace from earlier stuff with the Mothers of Invention.

A more "accessible" Beefheart than Trout Mask Replica, which I recommend on the basis that it is so different and incorporates so many different genres and styles. I'll be listening to that one again soon and giving it my full attention to see if my opinion is the same. Hell, there may be a thread to come from that.

Voted 6-10 for now because work is a major setback for my music consumption but if my hours take a cut it'll shoot right back up.

I'd say 6-10. Last.fm, Facebook, /mu/ and other various online outlets make it pretty easy to keep track of new material.

Edit: If we're just talking about music that's new to us, easily 15+. Mac DeMarco's "2" is the latest record I'm extremely hyped on, one of the best releases this year in my opinion.

This is what I'm asking. Can be a new release or an old one it just needs to be something you've never heard.
