Any fans? I'm digging everything he's done except for Trout Mask Replica. I feel like I owe it another listen because it seemed like one of those albums you really need to have patience with. Listening to Shiny Beast right now and enjoying it, particularly the use of horns.

Trout Mask Replica is the only worthy thing he has created.

Hey, you're the one that started this opinionated thread. If all you have to say is "wrong" you're better off disregarding your autism and going back to spamming your What Are You Listening To thread.

Sensing some hostility here.

I already posted in the OP that Shiny Beast is a quality album and I also find Safe as Milk to be a damned good blues-based album, thus my point that Trout Mask isn't "the only worthy thing he has created" stands; unless you care to prove to me that these two albums aren't good.

EDIT -- "Prove" is perhaps the wrong word, being that we are discussing music, let me rephrase that -- if you care to argue that those albums are not good I'd love to hear a reason as to why that is.

I could sit down and listen to Beefheart's discography and point out all the fickle flaws and distastes I have about both the way he handled his band and the end-result of the music they attempted to create, but I'm not going to.

Because I definitely asked you to do that. You made an idiotic claim that the only worthwhile thing he made was that one album when he showed a lot more range during his career than you give him credit for. Hell, his collaboration with Frank Zappa alone should be a good enough example against your point.
