Okay, I've about had it with my iPod for a bunch of reasons and want to sell my 64 gig iPod Touch and get a different MP3 player to use as an alternative. I'm willing to drop the HD space to 32 gigs or so (although I really don't want to) and don't need all the fancy features the Touch has, although some are nice.

Anybody have any suggestions? Links to product reviews and info are appreciated but just the name of the product would do. Feel free to post random iPod/iTunes hate here, as well.

You don't like the iPod itself? or is it iTunes you don't like?

Personally I used to use winamp with my iPod considering I hated iTunes, just search for the plugin and you're good to go.

When I checked last they didn't have a plugin for the iPod Touch so I am stuck using iTunes when I want to update stuff.

cowon is a lesser known company with some great mp3 players that have great sound. i used to use a cowon d2 until i started using my phone.

This seems compatible with the touch, not sure it matters which generation yours is though...
