Anyone got a good recommendation for a good record player. getting one this week.

budget: around $150 but can be less. not more than $200 MAX

Depends what you are doing - if you are just listening, then I suggest my old ALBA HiFi. Had a turntable on, 3cd changer and twin tape deck - big speakers, lovely.

If DJing - Look at KAM equipment first.

if djing - technics
if just playing a record just do some research on ones in your price range that you stated, like a direct drive numark. you can get a cheaper model for like 100$ . get a better needle later when you have a few more bucks

Fuck numark for vinyl playing decks lol, such a poorly made machine, why not just buy a hifi with a vinyl on the top? Better value for money.

And yes - I agree with you about Technics, KAM was all I had in mind earlier lol

this is me just buying records and playing them for my hearing pleasure. I'm not into djing or anything
