The first album of genesis were masterpieces, but I never heard after that Peter Gabriel before he made a cover of arcade fire song : my body is a cage, since then I'm discovering him and he's quite awesome at singing stuff with powerful emotion.

I think he is most famous for Solsbury Hill, basically about the breakup of Genesis. And the scene in Say Anything with John Cusack and the boombox. Genesis/Phil Collins/Peter Gabriel etc. they are alright not really quite my cup of tea honestly, I'd compare them a lot to Sting/The Police, maybe try out some Electric Light Orchestra too.
