In your opinion what is the best type of head phone and why?

Apple earbuds.

It's my fucking opinion.

Skull candy Hesh are pretty good, i blew mine up using a 300 watt home theater amp tho, but... they did last a pretty long time.
They're a pretty good price for what you get, around 70$.. dunno your price rang.
But i'd recommend them.

I had those before and didnt like them at all, i sold them 3 days after, I bought the MDR-XB500 from Sony and they are the best headphones ive ever owned, sound quality is great and they are extremly comfy.
Only problem with them is that you look like Leia from starwars when you wear them =D

Klipsch One are amazing bought them a while ago, beautiful sound, comfort, bass, simply amazing!!!

bought this 2 weeks ago, not in-ear but they are loud enough.. water resistant, voice control if using iphone etc.. me gusta

Sennheiser 595, or Beyerdynamic DT770 if you prefer closed headphones. I own the first one, and have used the second quite a bit through a friend. They're both very nice for their cost.
