Album came out in the U.S. today.
Friend dropped by with a copy for me.

Just loving the music video. It shows scenes from the upcoming finnish canadian musical fantasy film. Judging by how the music turned out, I'm going to enjoy the film.

Imaginaerum is an upcoming Finnish-Canadian musical fantasy film written and directed by Stobe Harju based on a story by Tuomas Holopainen. It was developed with and features music from Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish's seventh studio album of the same name. Imaginaerum, which is produced by Markus Selin from Solar Films Inc. along with Nightwish, is the feature film debut of Stobe Harju.

It received grants from the Finnish Film Foundation, a Finnish government institution. The film received $575,000 toward its $3.7 million budget. The film was originally titled Imaginarium, but the title was later changed to Imaginaerum in order to avoid mix-ups. The film will be released in 2012.

The film is about an old songwriter with an otherworldly imagination who still thinks he is a young boy. While asleep he travels into his past where his dreams of old come back to him mixed with the young boy's world of fantasy and music. The old man has to find the memories most important to him. On September 7, the director of Imaginaerum, Stobe Harju, gave a word on the film, revealing more about the story.

"Imaginaerum tells the story of an elderly composer, Tom, who suffers from severe dementia. As he has had the disease for years and has regressed into childhood, he remembers practically nothing from his adult life. His music, friends, all his past including the memory of his daughter are a blur in his fragile mind. All he has left is the imagination of a ten-year-old boy. As he drifts away into coma, it seems impossible to get back what he has lost. Tom travels through his imaginary world seeking answers and finding memories, while his daughter, Gem, tries to recover the bond she had once shared with her father in the real world. As they have become more and more distant from each other over the years, and as there's even greater obstacles separating them now — Tom's coma and his imminent death — Gem's project feels doomed to failure. However, through Tom's darkest secrets, Gem discovers the path she must follow in order to find her father again."

Pretty much had the album on repeat today. Can't wait until the movie comes out, though it may not be to the likes of some of you.

I'm a tarja-era fanboy, well was, wouldn't even touch DPP at first. Then I listened to a few live performances and picked the album up and anette eventually grew on me.
This album really showcases her voice and what she's capable of. I haven't really followed them so I was kind of in awe when my friend dropped by and tossed the album across the room.

I still don't know if I want this album........................... And there's nothing wrong with Tarja-era-fanboys. If they didn't START with Tarja, they'd be lucky to have any fanbase at all outside of their own country.

I shall listen to it *fingers crossed for not poo*

Epic. Just epic.

Atmospheric. Heavily theatrical. Very empathetic to the singer during a couple of the songs.

And this is definately fapping material for Tim Burton - this has his name written all over it and I'd be MASSIVELY surprised if he didn't try to use this in his own thang aswell.

New singer sounds hawt aswell <3

OH yeah, I Want My Tears Back , I heard that as "I want The Nineties back" and was very confused till I read the song name lol xD
