Rate or hate. I don't care about your opinions if you don't explain them. This is for the small percentage of people on this site who will enjoy it.

I like pretty much everything old school and real. If you want to recommend something to me, PM me rather than posting it.

Riot's "On Wings of Eagles" from the 1988 speed metal classic Thundersteel:

Riot is a band from New York City that has released many classic albums, with Fire Down Under and Thundersteel being the most revered of the bunch. The best thing about Thundersteel is that it is faster, rawer and earlier than Painkiller.

If you like newer metal (not nu-metal) come swing by our guild chat and have a yarn, or check out some bands that are posted in there. Or feel free to post some music there, we have lots of people who enjoy all kinds of metal.

Fates Warning's "The Apparition" from the unheralded 1985 classic The Spectre Within:

Fates Warning's early music remains some of the best heavy metal to come out of the US. Sadly, they "evolved" into a generic modern prog-metal after the departure of the amazing John Arch.

Welcome good sir.
Seems like you might enjoy some of the posts in my thread (sig, some old school heavy metal, thrash, doom and progressive every now and then) and in Strap-on's thread http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=50404998&f=186

I'm not interested in much of what is posted in your topic, but I appreciate you posting it since it begins with Rigor Mortis.

Candlemass' "A Sorcerer's Pledge" from their aptly named 1986 debut Epicus Doomicus Metallicus:

Messiah Marcolin doesn't quite match performances like this one if you ask me.

Trouble's "Bastards Will Pay" from the album now popularly known as Psalm 9:

Trouble expanded upon the doomy side of Black Sabbath, as well as their little known Christian beliefs.
