a genre focused around half time percussion at 140 bpm tempo with focus on sub bass. the genre has various sounds/styles , two distinguishable ones being the tear out / hype sound that is more mid range riff driven songs and the other being the deep / chill side that is more minimal and more focus on the bass line and percussion, but it is not limited to those two styles at all. evolved from garage/2step but draws influence from every genre you could imagine. gets the "dub" name from the focus on sound system culture and focus on sub low bass as well as reverbed snare hits and the step half from the 2step percussion that was heavily involved in early production and still continues today.

the genre has been commercialized to an extent in america and also watered down. it is very misunderstood to many americans and the original, deeper side is often overlooked because it is not as profitable. cant speak on the UK status cause i dont live there but cyrus, an originator of the genre, tweeted yesterday "When is radio one gonna start playing a supporting proper dubstep and not 140 pop music swamped with Lfo'd mid range?" so same could probably be said teh same there

Large up Spokane! Was born and raised there. Northwest dubstep scene is practically non-existent.

looool hahahfhhaha we do not spokane is the second biggest city in WA lol outskirts have lots of farms and down toward moses lake its like a desert but all those places suck.. and how does a truck get attacked by a hawk lol maybe it was an owl eating in the middle of the road? they like the mice that get run over haha

It didn't literally attack the truck. We were on vacation and we had parked somewhere to look at maps. Hawk sure as shit stalked us though. Landed on a rock or trunk or something I don't remember and screamed at the vehicle for like 3 minutes, then took off, then landed on the other side and did it some more. We eventually just left.

I kid a little. Spokane isn't much less like any other town I'd been in in WA. But yeah there isn't a damn thing bordering the place.
